To the arresting pictures of an ice wave in minnesota. Rising up with such force, it's destroying everything in its path. These temperature changes. On one side of the country, THE WEST, WE HAVE 80s, 90s, 100s Today. In part of the country, the cold wind chills. Because the cold air is sitting around the great lakes. Temperatures that feel like this, the ice hasn't had a chance to melt. It's picked up by the winds and is taken on shore. Ginger zee is in lake milacks. This is wild. Heaps of snow -- no, it's ice. Shards of ice. This is what happened when the ice started attacking. Come with me, into the boat house. It punctured right into this and a dozen other structures. It's really pushing in. Reporter: It is a colossal blob of ice. Coming right toward darla johnson's cottage. Michael, get away from it. Reporter: In less than ten minutes -- the ice that sounded like breaking glass broke glass, if these homes, smashing through the walls. It just busted through a door over here. Reporter: The ice was pushed ashore by strong winds. Look at the wave from above. At times, it climbed to three feet deep. It's going right through their house. Reporter: It's called an ice heave. Reporter: You can see right back there, sthat the lake. All of that thin ice was pushed right up with those strong winds on to the shore. Now, when the ice melts was about two to three weeks late.
