Transcript for New Makeup Trend Strobing Gives Benefits of Contouring With Less Fuss
First the hottest new makeup trend and it's called strobing. It is an easier way to get some of the benefits of contouring while saving you time and product. Carmindy and twins Lindsey and Juliana, we see the backs of their heads will very he will it but Abbie Boudreau shows us how highlighting became such a game changer. Reporter: If you want Jennifer Lopez's luminous look or Jessica alba's sun-kissed skin, just try the hot new makeup trend called strobing. Strobing is a technique using a highlighting product and you would apply it wherever the sun or light would naturally hit your face. Reporter: To get this natural glow just use a shimmery lotion or highlighting pencil on your cheekbones. Underneath your brow bone an own your lips and voila, you now have radiant skin. Unlike contouring the popular makeup trend that uses darker shades of foundation to define features, strobing is all about brightening the face with minimal product. And it's not just celebs trying this technique. Online tutorials are popping up everywhere. You don't need a complicated skillset when it comes to the application. So you can take products that you already have, shimmeriy eye shadow. Reporter: To get it, don't be shy with the shimmer. For "Good morning America," Abbie Boudreau, ABC news, los Angeles. Wow. So I don't have to contour like the tires rubbed across my face, carmindy, let's do the big reveal. We'll see who has the carmindyizing. Juliana or Lindsey. Juliana is the strobed. It's the new word for highlighting. Much easier bay to bring light, love and lift to the face and Lindsey has the contouring. They both look great but tell us how you did it. So what I did is when it comes to highlighting the face, you want to use a shimmer right on top of the cheekbone, underneath the brow and on the inside corner of the eye. This brings the light and love to the face and looks natural. With the contouring, it's a lot because it's very dramatic. You got to go all the way around the face, sides of the nose, down the jaw line. If you're not a great master blender it's going to take a long time up to 25 minutes and doesn't look as natural That's what I was going to ask again. This one is easier for the novice. Absolutely easier and works on all ages and all skin tones too. I have to say she looked even better. I could tell. It's glowy, dewy, fresh and as we get older we get a little dull and want to bring the love and light and lift to the face. Let's get outside and talk about the weather forecast.
