Transcript for Robin Roberts Faces the 'Sharks'
up our swimming with the sharks series. You watched all of us make our pitch to the entrepreneurs from "Shark tank." Except robin. George was up first, with the dad-tionary app. And Amy had the paw pit stop, the mat that keeps your dogs' paws clean. Ginger with her fiery filanges. And I switched strong island iced tea. It's a twist on a high-octane beverage. And, robin. You're the one to beat. It's my turn. My idea came to me. I couldn't wait to run with it straight to the hosts of "Shark tank." Meet the sharks. Mark Cuban, entrepreneur, media mogul and owner of the Dallas mavericks. Barbara Corcoran, real estate mogul. Kevin o'leary, venture capitalist and software mogul. Lori Greiner, entrepreneur, queen of QVC and author of "Invent it, sell it, bank it." Daymond John, founder and CEO of fubu, fashion and branding mogul. Next up is robin Roberts, who is pitching a no-excuse workout app for people on the go. Exercise has always been a big part of my life. And recently, I have discovered yoga. Take a breath in. There's something about hanging upside down or balancing in a tree pose that simulating my mind and my body. And I miss it when I'm not here. That's why I wanted to have something for people when they can't be here. Yep. That they can do something while on the road. While in the pigeon pose with my yoga instructor, Christine, an idea came to me. I think I might have something. An app that gives people a variety of options for a workout, wherever they are. Can do yoga. There's a class starting in 15 minutes. Using gps, it pinpoints your location. You plug in what kind of exercise you want, the duration and it searches for workouts in your area. Whether it's Chicago for business. Miami on vacation. Or at your daughter's soccer practice. At a moment's notice, you could be rock climbing, jogging at a local park or swimming at a health club. The possibilities are endless. I'll call it burn fitness. To the sharks, I say, namaste. Hello, everyone. I'm going to rock and change your world. Tell us how it works. I'm going to tell you how it works, Mr. Wonderful. The burn fitness app. We all know, there's an app for that. And this one is going to do it for you. What it does, it has a gps. Say you're traveling. We're all very busy. You're traveling and you want to get a little workout in. It doesn't matter how much time you have, how intensely you want to go or how much you want to spend. You put in your location. Stay you're in Chicago. You want 60 minutes. And you can spend a little bit. But, boy, you want to max it out. What do you do? I have a great helper with me. Crystal, come on out. There you go. Crystal, she goes to Chicago. She puts in all this information. And what does it say? Okay. She's going to go to Lincoln park. Very close by. She's going to run. It doesn't cost her a thing. She runs for 60 minutes. Look how many calories she's going to burn. Or maybe a little yoga. Anybody into yoga? We find out with the app, there's a yoga studio less than a mile away, $20. And every hour, they're having a class. Thank you, crystal. I'm going to get America healthy. That's what I want to do. But I can't do it without you. What do you say? I would say, if this app is working, there's evidence. You look pretty good. Thank you. The challenge becomes, robin, how do you update all that information? I think before it becomes an app, to get it out there quicker, it becomes a blog, where people contribute. Is there really nothing out there like this now? What's different is robin. Having somebody up front. Having somebody living it. You can drive people to contribute. I had some health issues. Being active did not prevent me from getting ill. But it helped me kick its butt. That's what I want to show people. Would you sell the app to people? Or would you prefer the advertisers that you choose, and curate, the right clubs and the facilities. And they become your partners. That's starting to sound really interesting. And the credibility goes up because you're not allowing just any fitness or trainer to be on it. People know it's safe. And you get paid by those who endorse. This is what sets you all apart. I'm almost getting teary-eyed. People have enough difficulty. I don't want to take money from them. I'm a believer that if you're aspirational and inspirational, and people want to follow you, the money will find you. But will the sharks jump in? They will now score her idea from 1 to 5. I give you a 4.5. It's a great idea. Easily 5-point plus. You put your face on burn fitness, it's a hit right away. I'm giving you a 4, robin. You're living proof that your regimen works. But I think you're a raging capitalist and don't even know it yet. Thank goodness you have met me. I gave you a 4.5. With your name on it, I think you're an inspiration to so many people. And this will get out there, big. My number is based on, I like fitness. I suffer from a little overnutrition here. Very healthy here. I'm going to give you a plus because I'm a graphic person. And that burn -- What's the score? Five-plus, baby. You like that. Thank you all very much. I had no idea that they, the sharks, would be so into it and have such great additions to it. I'm tingling right now. I really am. I'm tingling. What a great idea. I'd sign up in a second. A free app because everybody's so busy. It's a way, that way when you go back to your Normal routine, you haven't been away too long from it to continue on. It's really great. I agree. I like the fire coming out of the hair. Burn, baby. They are so good at what they do. They are. You have a germ of an idea. And they can really expand upon it. It's really great. It's a real battle between you two. Let's look at the scores of robin with the sharks. Two perfect 5s. 22 1/2 total. Oh. And now, the moment we've been waiting for. We're about to reveal the winner of the "Gma" swims with the sharks series. Let's go to the leaderboard to find out. We see robin, moving up to her place, just behind Lara. The winner is Lara, with a score of 23. And we have a very special "Gma" "Shark tank" trophy for you, Lara. Look at that. Thank you. Thank you. All right. We have to give you kudos. You really put a lot into that. A lot of thought. I know that it's something -- Getting a ringer. No, no. Bethenny was great. I wanted to get her advice on it. She knows how to do it. I'm not -- There's a big payoff, as well. Let me first say. What this says to everybody, is everybody has a great idea. I loved all of your ideas. I want to share this with the team. And hopefully share this with you guys. Will you explain this part of it? Yes. In honor of national small business week, our sponsor, Dell, is making a major donation in Lara's name.
