Now to a fiery plane crash in Florida. It smashed into a home shortly after takeoff bursting into flames and the desperate race against time to save the people caught inside. ABC's David Kerley all the details for us, good morning, David. Reporter: Good morning, robin. The story of survival and those three fighting for their lives facing significant burns on their bodies. As you mentioned, the crash right after takeoff. This morning investigators trying to determine why it crashed. Intense flames in the Florida neighborhood. You got a totally engulfed house. Reporter: A small plane at the center. Aircraft crash, I'm being advised per the tower it's a half mile just east. As soon as I turned there was a fireball then it was just a huge amount of black smoke. Reporter: First responders rushing to find survivors. We have three patients, all patients are alive. Reporter: One of those ejected from the plane, two others walking away with the help of residents who braved the flames. I need you to handle the three patients real quick. Copy. Reporter: Someone was at home in the house with the roof on fire but escaped. When the plane hit his house it bounced over one house and ended up in the yard of the next house. So obviously there were some very fortunate people. Reporter: The FAA says the twin engine plane was practicing takeoffs and landing at the pompano airport going down a half mile from the runway. It's unclear whether it was a private plane or a flight school aircraft. Did you see what happened? Yeah, I saw it. That was a departure actual. Reporter: This suggests the beechcraft duchess 2340esed up too much or lost an engine then plugged toward the ground. There are more accidents and deaths involving small planes in the U.S. Every year, nearly four accidents every day, more than 260 deaths a year. Now, those three survivors were burned over 30% to 40% of their bodies and are undergoing treatment this morning. Both the ntsb and the FAA are investigating the accident. George and robin.
