We've been talking about it all morning. Now to the movie that's a force to be reckoned with. "Star wars: The force awakens" smashing records here as well as in Europe. We wanted to check this out. One of the stars John boyega showing up at a few screenings in New York City and fans totally freaked out and had Dan been there to witness it he would have been passed out and unable to watch the movie. As an unabashed "Star wars" nerd, I had to pick the right date and decided to go old school bringing along the guy who I first discovered "Star wars" with. My little brother Matt. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, Boston in 1977, two little boys became obsessed with "Star wars." ? and now nearly 40 years later my younger brother Matt and I are reliving our youth. How crazy were we about "Star wars" when we were little kids? You guys had lightsabers, anything we could afford you could play "Star wars" with. Is it true Matt was completely irresponsible with his and would attack me and break things around the house. That's what yoda had. Did you get it when you were 12. No, I just bought it yesterday. Reporter: Opening weekend of "Star wars: The force awakens" shattered records worldwide making nearly 130 million bucks in its first two days, even attracting people you'd think would have their hands full this time of year. Santa, are you here to see "Star wars"? Yep. You are? Yep. Do you think you're going with the right or wrong motif or something I don't know about this movie? Spoiler alert. No, I don't know. I just -- I'm just in town. I want to see the movie. I'm late. Okay, that's the craziest I've ever -- Ready? Let's do it. There's been an awakening. The hype around the movie has officially jumped to light speed. Stormtroopers and r2-d2 at the white house. This is pretty cool. Cast members at a flashy premiere in London. May the force be with all of you, yes. As for the movie itself -- the coolest thing I think about it is that it's funny. Chewbacca was funny. That's not a spoiler. We're home. Oh. Did you like -- Sara is doing her chewbacca. The thing that impressed the most the two young leads, John boyega and daisy ridley were amazing. It brought me back to my youth. You inspired me to go back and see all the previous six movies that led up to it. It really -- got me excited. It got me in the mood to see it. Took you a week to do. For once I'm saying thank you. Coming up on "Good morning
