Transcript for No charges in fatal Minnesota police shooting
Hey there I'm Alex president of ABC news in today we are in Minneapolis following up on the fatal police shooting of Thurmond Blevins now that shooting happened. Last month and it took place right here in this Alley now officers. Were first called to the scene after receiving a call about someone firing they're gone into the ground and into the air. When officers arrived they found the suspect and they say he had a loaded handgun. Those officers on that police body cam video that was just recently released you can hear them giving the suspect commands to put that weapon down. The suspect in the video then you can see him a running away ignoring those commands. Leading to that chase that happened right here in this Alley now it's in that. That video that police say at one point you can see the suspect. Reached for his waist band and reach for that handgun. And then turnaround towards the officers and that's when in the video the officers. Opened fire killing the suspect now the prosecutor has reviewed all of that video and just. Has announced that those officers who fired their weapons will not face any criminal charges. They say the prosecutors say that this shooting was justified. Now Blevins of family disagrees they say it's unjustified in fact they call it murder. And they're scheduling protests here in Minneapolis.
