School officials are not only sending the wrong message to teenagers to their kids they are also stepping on some parental -- -- I think I should have the right with my daughter to decide what dress she wears that's why Charlotte nine house says she is fighting -- decision by the principal at -- -- to middle school to ban strapless dresses from the annual eighth grade dance she had indicated that it was a distraction to the -- -- It was inappropriate for this age group. Nine house calls that attitude sexist and other parents are also concerned that it sends the wrong message to teenagers that very you know they're not responsible for their behavior and that clothing dictates what their behavior is and I don't think that that. The school superintendent responded to our request for comment with the statement -- -- township school district has a policy regarding dress code which is being universally applied to the school day. And school events. We regret that a small number of families are upset by this and we welcome your input and communication parents told -- finding the right dressing is no small task under the best circumstances. Now tonight the parents led by nine house -- going to be appearing before the school board here to make their case against that ban on strapless dresses. They're hoping that the school district is going to suspend the ban for this year.
