Reporter: 2-year-old shifts through his blocks, his parents from San Antonio, Texas, are still shifting through a pile of medical bills from his delivery. $15,000 from childbirth. We brought in our consumer advocate to try to cut down that bill. Step one, ask for an itemized bill. Compare the two and contest any service that you don't remember getting. Comparison shop even after the fact. Call up your hospital and say, excuse me, the guy down the street is charging 80,000 less. Yes. Reporter: Doing that the houks found they were being charged three times. And able to negotiate 12,000 off their bill. Consider hire a professional like copatient. We're seeing some sort of error in overcharge in the bills we review. Reporter: Almost all of them. Yeah. They bill in such a way to say that Ronan was sick at delivery. That she needed special attention, that wasn't the case. Reporter: They'll even help you apply for special grants and discount programs. And we were there copatient told them just how much money she saved. I have saved $18,000 to date. Reporter: $18,000 so far, that's $30,000 in total. The moment stunned us all. Wow. Wow. That's good news. Reporter: What does this mean for your lives? It just means we can't -- we can't -- we can move on. Reporter: Unbelievable. They fought that bill for more than two years.
