Evening and we begin tonight with that classroom take down captured on video the images are so disturbing the FBI is now investigating tonight. It all begins and a high school algebra class an officer in South Carolina is called in and appears to violently force a student out of her seat. It is hard to watch the officer appearing to put his arm around her neck there the desk flipping over he drags her away. The other students in the room frozen in place many reporting it on their phones. Tonight that officer is now on leave and we are about to show you what happens in the moments leading up to that confrontation. ABC's Mary Bruce leading us all from Columbia, South Carolina. It was 11 AM algebra class at spring Valley High School in Columbia, South Carolina authorities say a sixteen year old female student was being disrupted. Some students say she was texting chewing gum. She's asked to leave but refuses and finally a school resource officers called to the classroom walks over to the student shots or laptop and moves it away. She refuses several more times that's what the situation escalating. You know I'm yeah he's. That's second video shot by another student shows the officer slamming the student to the brown. He grabbed her arm she lets her arm up and then other arm goes around her neck and I lately since her desk. Dragging her across the room and detaining her until she is released to their parents. Give me your hands the officer repeats four times you can see the other students broke exit watching him silence. Sophomore Tony Robinson who was in the classic shot this video tells us terrified her everybody's scared him. Mister deputy Fisk a minute we all knew what was salute you know about to happen. One student did try to defend her classmates stepping in it. Only to be arrested herself. They got her out the classroom the day he came today in he would like you want some it is still a name he does on that you wanted Jill to. The school resource officer identified as 34 year old Ben fields that deputy sheriff in football coach at the high school last year he was honored for being an exceptional role model but there have been red flags he's been sued in the past in 2007 field was accused of using excessive force in that case the jury sided with fields. A night the FBI has been called in to aid in the investigation. The sheriff's department interviewing students and reviewing all videos including one they say shows the student striking the officer with her fist and school officials. Are outraged at what we all lost on that shamefully shocking didian. Is reprehensible. Unforgivable. And inconsistent with everything that this district stands for. David tonight deputy field is on unpaid administrative leave. Banned from this high school here and all others in this district as the FBI and Justice Department investigate.
