Now an abc news investigation getting results. In november we showed you how schools are dealing with children with behavior issues, including autism. Tonight one state is taking action with a new law restricting one of the most common methods of control, isolation rooms that some call padded approximate cells. Abc's chief investigative correspondent brian ross brings us what's changing tonight. Reporter: At one school in massachusetts, students get what is called skin shock therapy. in kentucky, a mother found her autistic 8-year-old son had been stuffed in a therapeutic duffel bag like this one. And ntry k abc news found children as yng as 7 fut in padded rooms or cells specially made for children said to be out of control in class, regarded as barbaric by some educators, but legal in most states. It's scary, really scary. Even for the bravest person in the world. Reporr: But when lesley discovered her second-grade son in this padded cell without her consent, she made a secret cellphone video and launched a public campaign to stop their use. It breaks my heart. It really does. That's what caused me to want to fight this fight. Reporter: Last week, success, as the arizona legislature passed a law restricting the use the padded cells without parental consent.
