Reporter: Tonight, passengers capturing the moment a man is dragged off a plane after trying to open the emergency exit door mid flight. When he started coming all the door, crazy eyes. He just had these big, black gazing eyes. There was really no emotion. Reporter: The American airlines flight took off from Chicago Tuesday, heading to Dallas. But less than 45 minutes into the flight, witnesses say a man got up and desperately tried to open a door. He had all the door levers being flipped up. He was just going at it, attacking it. Reporter: Passengers jumping into action, tackling the man. I got him to the ground, pinned him. A couple other gentlemen got on back of me and helped pin him down. Reporter: Tying him up and holding him down, as the flight was diverted to St Louis. No one was hurt. The man was ultimately released. And David, aviation experts say opening a door or emergency hatch in flight is impossible. The cabin pressure just won't allow it. David? Gio, thank you.
