view." Right before the show Republicans voted congresswoman Liz Cheney out of their conference leadership chair. She had these parting words about fighting to save their party from you-know-who. Take a look. I will do everything I can to ensure that the former president never again gets anywhere near the oval office. We've seen the danger that he continues to provoke with his language. We've seen his lack of commitment to the constitution. I think it's very important we make sure whomever we elect is somebody who will be faithful to the constitution. I think the party is in a place we've got to bring it back from. We've got to get back to a position where we are a party that can fight for conservative principles, to substance. We can't be dragged backward by the dangerous lies of a former president. Joy, about three quarters of her Republican colleagues voted to boot her. What does this say to the country? What is it saying to you when you hear all this? Well, she's the Joan of arc standing up to the here ticks at this point. She's very lonely in that position. I do have faith she's a tough cookie. It's refreshing to see someone stand up to the qanon party who is not afraid to lose her job like the rest of those cowards who are shivering in the corner. I have not been a Republican fan as you might have noticed. The big lie of the Iraq war was the Republican party. This is just another big lie that they're perpetuating on the American people. I'm not surprised by the Republican party frankly. They seem to enjoy a big lie. In the first instance a lot of people died. In this instance we may lose our democracy. Why anybody is a Republican at this point is something I cannot fathom. Sara, why do you think so many Republicans are banking on you-know-who? I mean, he could cost them the white house and the senate. He's done it before. Why do you think they're all banking on him? I think it's got to be numbers and math. I can't in my heart and mind wrap myself around why people would follow as they do. I think the fact that he could mean victory means they will sell their souls for political gains. That's all I can figure out. At this point I have little or nothing in -- I don't agree with much of Liz Cheney's politics, if any at all. I'm leaving room for error. I do respect her right now because she is standing up for the truth and, as Jeff -- was it Jeff flake? He said none of my colleagues believe, not one, believes the election was rigged. They're knowingly lying. He tweeted that. Can we put that tweet back up Liz Cheney has been removed for speaking the truth. In the end truth will prevail. It's sad that the party knowingly would oust someone that was standing up for this and her fear is that he risks inciting more violence like is insurrection we saw on January 6th. I think it's really also admirable that Cheney believes that the truth is more important than her role, not just her job, but her leadership. This cause is bigger to her, which I also respect. I'm more curious where this goes moving forward. Is this something that any time a Republican loses we'll be dealing with a rigged election? That's kind of how it's seeming right now. I don't know how they come out the other side. Meghan, I'm going to ask you because I wonder, when you see Liz Cheney standing up and saying I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that this does not erode -- continue to erode American values and ideal, I mean, what is it saying to you as a conservative? Is she right and should she continue to stand or should she, you know, go on over to the other side? I am having a hard time with this. We've been talking about this for over a week now. What we all thought was going to happen happened this morning. She's being replaced by Elise Stefanik who, by the way, Liz Cheney has a 78% rating from the American conservative union. Elise Stefanik has a 44% rating. Elise Stefanik is more centrist and mooshy in the middle. Cheney's politics are hyper conservative. Just a little throwback. When I turned 30, I was voted -- made one of "Elle" magazines 30 woman at 30. Elise Stefanik was there. We did the photo shoot together. At the time I thought she was so impressive. It's so exciting. She was the youngest woman ever elected to congress before AOC and being like she's the future. I'm so excited. She is the future. To see a turn for someone so young -- we're both 36 years old. To see this turn where a woman who is generations older than me, Liz Cheney, is fighting for the future of the party and Elise Stefanik who is millennial is doubling down at the altar of trumpism, that's what's most disappointing to me. My generation of leadership is also failing us. If you look at numbers and stats, we are bleeding millennials. It's a joke. The idea that a millennial woman would know that and still continue to double down in this way, I don't understand it, but I know that power is the ultimate afro Dees yack. It's the opiate of the masses. For people in D.C., it's their heroin. Power for some people is better than being able to sleep at night. I don't think she believes what she's saying. I think she's doing this for power. That's the saddest moment for me this mourn. It continues the idea that America is changing. They were worried about the those aren't people you should be worried about. You should be worried about what this is saying to America. What removing Liz Cheney for telling the truth means to America. When we come back, we have more to talk about because we haven't heard from sunny. We'll be right back.
