The movies out some 2019. What is out there what's gonna happen. And I got to start by saying you think maybe that summer begins on your calendar. Near the end of June. But not in Hollywood. Everything in Hollywood begins early because Summers when they make all the money that they can make all year so officially. April 25 is the beginning of summer because the movie that opens on that day it's called avengers. And games. This is three hours long nobody's gonna care. I predict that not only will this be the biggest box office here this summer but it will be the biggest bucks substituted the year. Do you remember what happened last time all the advantages or at least half of them seemed to turn to dust to die. We now have those advantages that are left that finding if they can beat the evils that now. He's so evil will be adventures be wiped out for ever. Look how much money that these movies make. I'm saying why would you basically. Kill the golden goose. This is going to continue in some way we all know it so what else is out there I'm looking at my list. There's a major thing going on now. In terms of taking the Disney flash Pixar animated classics and turning them into live action movie. So we have the Lion King Lion King when in the most successful Disney animated movies ever. Is now being done is a live action movie. You have Donald Glover being Simba you have James Earl Jones actively being the father. And this thing towards there at the same music and it's directed by John fat Breaux who did such a great job with the jungle book doing the same thing that. I think we can all feel optimistic about what's going to happen and then we have a lad. When we remember the animated movie who do we remember. Them rapidly through the life of the Jeannie. This time doing the voice of the genie and being the genie we have Will Smith so big stars. In this big kind of thing they tried it with dumbo earlier this year. And that didn't quite work the way they wanted to do but we're talking about lying keying and the Latin so. Big dia. A watt in terms of old fashioned animation is out there. I don't know if you're like me but there's Toy Story war what stories always been my favorite those pics there's something about. Woody and buzz light year and you probably think yourself well on Toy Story 3. And it happened that it would be fitting goodbye and the and he went to college in it was all over. Op member there was little Barney and he gave his toys through so we're gonna have livable peace come back. I think when you look at what goes on in Toy Story you have that kind of feeling of good. A feel goodness they done with all the magic to picks up. So if those of dangers out there are gonna have a run for their box office money I would say Toy Story war is going to be the one that does it. So why don't we now have men in black men in black interred national. You're not gonna see will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones anymore but this time you have Chris Hemsworth. And test a Thompson as new agents who are out there in this men in black universe. Sometimes you take yourself do I want more of that. And you never know to the actually see it and I can only tell because I haven't seen this movie yet but it looks like there's chemistry there. Then we have Spider-Man far from home. You know Spiderman franchise never seems to and either but. We have Tom Holland who played him last time charming way I think but now Spider-Man Peter Parker you're taking a European vacation. And the villain that they've run up against is an hysteria -- played by Jake Gyllenhaal. I just think there's still some special sauce in this Spider-Man universe and I expect this one to also be a major hit. Nearly king in the months. Since that I know how much. They work this work. But you can look at the trailer C it I'd like the idea. That aside from here for me whose it really Bobby Brown from stranger things she did Diana well. So if God's elect and basically means that. Non little Millie to do something with that. Halves inch on this is fast and the furious you remember the rock. Planes the law man and cheese steak them playing the outcast in the rebel. These guys I don't know if this is Hollywood kind of thing but they tell us. That case and make them and the rocked Wayne Johnson don't really like each other. And he'd be back what. The reason we love these characters just so much because we like that conflict. Now that it seemed very good PR stunt to me but I'm going to be there because this cars there's the rock and their state. So you're going to be their cue in you know. All the big deal now we everybody here is just in the midst of welcoming game of the wrong back. To their lives the last season of that. You can't bear to live in a world where you can't see the spark sisters anymore one you can. Dark Phoenix which is part of the X-Men universe brings Sophie turner. And she's Jean gray attack that we've seen the war but she's younger version number. And he split between the good side of her and the dark Phoenix side it. And to me. These girls are tremendously talented in what they do in game with rounds and I think we're gonna keep seeing them through the years. But her sister her at least gamers thrown sister. Mazie Williams is in new mutants. Part of that universe to. But in this case they're all new characters to do this they're all going to be in the X-Men universe doing. So that's it for the blockbusters that are out there. Be in. Part of summer is comedy. I think we all really have gone through a long winter and we're saying make us laugh we give us something that would just say. I can just sit back in knot thing. So why they are for that there is a movie called long shot this isn't movie in which Charlie there is playing the secretary of state. Who is running for president but falling madly in love with true fact Hogan. OK if a competing in the B thing going on. Seth Rogen is her speech writer all of her people say what you're doing you're gonna destroy your career. But now if love and if you don't laugh that the combination. Seth Rogen and Charlie standard and left. And then we have the hostel hostel is a movie that used to be called dirty rotten scam for. Where is the old days it was about con men out con women they're played by Anne Hathaway and rebel Wilson. And they've basically go all across the continent finding rich people whose money they steal. Pretty people glam are what's wrong. Owl books more. This is directed by the actress Olivia Wilde. And it's about girls graduating from. And saying we spent all our lives with our head in the book everybody else is going to parties and so there are going to be that. Being felt theme plays one of them she is the sister of Jonah Hill and real life. And Joan Gil good super bad this kind of the woman's version of bad. Everything and it works like a charm you're really in the like. Then we have a movie called late night this is about the TV talk show world. And Emma Thompson plays probably the only woman on late night TV who coax her own show. But she's got only men on her writing staff and then she hired me indicating who also wrote the screenplay of this man. Very very funny about what happens when you put women into what basically in the mail that in the doing. And the combination of Mindy mean writing for the great Emma Thompson. And watching him perform together is just two years if the ball so you've got to see down to. Oh my favorite kind of thing. The dead don't die you've you've got to admit that is a great and a funny tied it comes from they indeed directing greet him to arm. And it's caught people like Bill Murray and Adam driver. I. If bill Morey can go out there and yet. I think a zombie on going to be there watching him that we have a good chance. Har. I've got to talk about it now because it's not just the occasional movie harm the debt makes money inning and make people talking get happy. They're everywhere. Child's play you remember the old child playing movies where you had Chucky the crazy. Not doll always there. I just think this doll looks kind of a little bit weird fractionally but he has a lifetime like a longshoreman. She's doing us. Mark. Mark Hamill Luke Skywalker and from what I've seen of it in the fifth in the little bit of it. It's wonderfully malevolent so I'm going to be there to see that one then there's Annabel comes home. Another doll another possessed doll also part of the conjuring universe where. Of your farm meat and Patrick Wilson team acknowledges that try to. Make sure that nothing bad outcome of this horrible doll and a belt but you know and a bill will pastoral. And I will be there to watch her do it. And not and that follow. There's certain tide of that get me then that follow really gets me and it's about. A snake handling church in Appalachian no there there are there cults. And their almost religious cult where people pray but they have these snakes and they hold the life Nathan asked the mind. And you think it wouldn't count me to finally see dean be our movie will death. Who the star in this movie the freshly minted Oscar winner Olivia Coleman from the favorite. She's toss in those state program. So irresistible I think you're gonna love it. Then there's the nightingale see if that thing out it's hard everywhere that night yes from the director Jennifer can't. Who did I think a couple of years ago called the Bob duke which gave millions of people nightmares. And now she's back there following a woman who is facing a convict. We got to be hooked and then he'd thought our midsummer. Directed by Arie Astor who last year gave us her ready Terry with Toni Collette a really scary movie Alex had a nine day. Swedish holiday where everybody celebrate but failed. Way. After. So we've got out of that that there that's just gonna scare away the night could be yet. All right when summer comes we think of all the things I just talked about blocked the stars comedy car action the rock. Everything is there but. Every evening in this season like this it's all about money getting it into a theater there are those movies. That can come out entertain us and also will hear about them at the end of the year when the Oscar nomination now. And the number one movie and that left and the one that I haven't seen anything and I'm envious of anyway and thought. Even anything past the trailer. It's called once upon a time in Hollywood. It is written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio. As a teen star on the wane in Los Angeles. And Brad Pitt as his Don double. Whoever thought of that that's just jeans. And where's it said it fit in LA during the time of the Charles Manson murders of Sharon Tate being. And Margot Robbie plays Sharon Tate who was with DiCaprio in the wheel well Wall Street so here's what parent he. Taking on basically the world of LA. During the Manson time and also the insanity of Hollywood and Spain and everything that goes on and it. It's just them to me. Like so great when we meet again at labored and we talk about what really work. If this one doesn't work I'm going to be one disappointment secret so remember that once upon a time and holly. Then. We have a comedy slash drama slash. Well who knows what it is but it's called. Where are you going Bernadette it from the bestselling book and it stars Cate Blanchett would do so is good news to me for any movie. And he's an architect who settled down and got married and basically forgot her career while she's taking care of her husband and kids. And winds up running away don't know where she is and they think if she in Antarctica. Should we go chaser should we find her. A terrific book about every could do with the Arab that we live now and in women's rights. But also you laugh and at the same time those left sticking your wrote this is. An incredible thing directed by Richard linkletter who gave us boy hood days in could use. But the kind of movie that the academy pays attention to as well as audiences though all of of that one. And all this stuff happening now to where people we think as comic actors are now taking. It to the next level they're getting dramatic up we'll Fina. Who always makes me that is in a movie that played at Sundance that comes that this summer called the fare well in which. She's the granddaughter they have a grand parent who is dying that they faked a wedding so they don't tell the grand parent. That they know what's going to happen but they make it as a wedding so everybody could have a good time really surprising. Touching movie. And this point is called the kitchen standing for health picture here in New York. About. Wives of imprisoned mafia ties. Who decides to take over the business sounds a little like widows that we had last year and even more dramatic in that way and who aren't meant. Melissa McCarthy. Tiffany head and the lives of the law. And you think of that was this Charlie's Angels is that now. Be fees did furious. In terms of how they do this is violence there's every kind of thing happening it. And as we found out last year with Melissa McCarthy. This woman can kind of do anything you can do comedy drama and everything across the board so please we got to see that and music music in terms of these movies that might get nominated. And have become such a big thing thanks to this success. Last year bohemian wraps. You have rounding out winning the Oscar for playing queen's Freddie Mercury. And a movie that the critics went kind of miffed that. And the he wins the Academy Award as best actor what we have this summer as a movie called rocket man. It starring Karen Negroponte pulling Elton John. Playing another one of these larger than life figures. And in a movie that's half files and and half just. Real listening to music so that's huge. And another tiny when yesterday. Directed by Danny Boyle who won his Oscar for slum dog millionaire. Yesterday's about a guy who is a musician not getting anywhere. And he buys that he's living in a world where nobody ever heard of the field. That they never exist he looked them up on line and it turns that they never would have that he just once ran going yesterday. He becomes a huge star of course you will if one guy turning out the music of The Beatles to do this acts. And on the ten appearances. And then blinded by the light. The bedecked cholera stars as a Muslim teenager. Who is obsessed with the music of Bruce Springsteen and we all are currently you know that it loss. So he's obsessed with that and lives his life according to the weird that are set off and Bruce Springsteen song. Why suddenly this has happened why this year we all of this summer. We also get a documentary on David Crosby which I can't recommend enough it was a huge hit its Sundance. And Martin score says it. Has put together Bob Dylan's rolling thunder revue from decades ago where Dylan went on tour with this and we see the excitement that happens when. He. Combines with other musicians at the time and does all of this so. We have Al and we start with Elton John that we go through yesterday we get the Peter we got David Crosby we have Bob Dylan. I don't know what to say when I advocate this lift except. There's a Bruce Springsteen song thing called dancing in the dark where we really don't know or Bob Dylan song called blowing in the wind. I had no idea in the end. Which of these movies are gonna make the most money and which of them are going to be the movies that we love and if take to our hearts but what an exciting line. See you at.
