Time though now for our "Gma" cover story. Kevin hart breaking his silence on that car crash, the comedian undergoing surgery after suffering major back injuries. This morning what he's saying about the wreck and what the official report is now revealing. ABC's Diane Macedo back with this story. Good morning once again, Diane. Good morning to you all. So, this is the first time Kevin has spoken out about that crash and his statement comes on the heels of new details about what happened that night. Take a look. Over a month after his car careened off a California highway leaving him with serious back injuries, actor Kevin hart is breaking his silence. 40-year-old hart was one of three people riding in his 1970 plymouth barracuda that day. Producer Jared black was driving and black's fiancee Rebecca Broxterman was also in the car. In a statement released by his attorney, hart now says, quote, I have nothing but love for Jared and wish him and Rebecca a speedy recovery. This comes as a police report reveals the horrific details of the crash saying the driver's, quote, reckless sudden and rapid acceleration caused him to lose control of the car which then collided with a railing, descended down a steep embankment and finally struck a tree. The car was actually a two-seater, though three people were in the car, so one person wasn't in a seat and no one at the time was wearing their seat belt. Reporter: The. Reporter: Also describes the wreckage. The roof was nearly level with the engine and trunk compartments, and two of the passengers were trapped as rescue teams used heavy machinery to cut off the roof then transported them to the hospital. The car, it was totaled essentially, and it's pretty amazing that they were -- they got out of this alive. Reporter: Hart's attorney is also reassuring fans worried about the actor's recovery saying hart is doing physical therapy for his back injuries but doesn't anticipate being fully back to work until early next year. We know he is a very hard worker and has nonstop projects, blockbuster projects so the question really is what is he postponing while he's going through this recovery? Now, hart has started doing a little work here and there but while everyone is anxious to see him fully back in action, the focus is on his recovery. Thank you so much.
