Transcript for Rachael Ray’s house fire under investigation
We turn now to ABC's Kyra Phillips in Washington with the latest headlines. Good afternoon, Kyra. We actually begin with the new headline about football's big 10, the college conference voting 12-2 not to play this fall due to covid, with Nebraska and Iowa reportedly voting to play. And the chaos in the areas of the windy city. This morning, this video coming to us of the widespread looting at businesses, property damage, while shots were heard along Chicago's magnificent mile. The Chicago transit authority also shutting down all train and bus service downtown. The possible police-involved shooting that may have triggered this violence is now under investigation. And an investigation is under way to figure out what happened at Rachael ray's house. This is her home in lake luzerne, New York. Which she's been filming her show lately, and it went up in flames. A spokesperson said that Rachael, her husband and her dog all got out safely. The extent of the damage and the cause of that fire is now under investigation. And the heads up for students as they get ready to go virtually back to school. The Illinois school district says it's drawing the line on what's acceptable attire online. There's a new dress code now for remote learning. No slippers. No hats. No pajama pants. No school. And Amy, just a few more no-nos, no sunglasses and bandannas. And one more thing -- students have to be sitting up at a desk or a table, not in bed during class. I never thought in a million years that I would be reporting on such a dress code. I guess no bunny slippers. I'm okay with everything but the no slippers. Why can't you have slippers on, all right. All right, Kyra, thank you very much.
