Transcript for Apps that can help you weather extreme cold
We are back now with the apps that could help you fight this winter blast. Paula Faris is here to help us out as always. Hey there, Michael. Ideally it would be nice if ginger zee could give us the personal forecast, 24/7. But that's not possible. This is one of the top rated weather apps right now on iTunes, dark sky so it says Jackson, Michigan, my hometown, 9 degrees but feels like negative 3. You can see the hour by hour temperature but you can go to this tab right here and it says feels like, so it tells you it feels like negative 4, negative 6. They have precipitation tabs and wind tabs and it will tell you what the temperature will be like over the next seven days but what I think really sets dark sky apart from some of the other apps, I can't tell you how many types I got caught in the rain without an umbrella. You can go to notifications which is at the bottom of the screen and right here turn on the umbrella reminder, the sunscreen reminder that will remind you to bring an umbrella or apply spf in the uv index is high. A couple of things to protect your smartphone. Don't charge your phone when it's cold because you notice that it drains very quickly when it's cold but it's going to be fine once it's restored to Normal temperature. Turn it off in extreme temperatures and if you're turning it back on if it's beenout side, Michael, you want to make sure you wait until it warms up but you could turn it on too quickly, it will cause internal damage. Always read the fine print when downloading any app.
