really tough for all of us, but especially so for moms helping their famies through the pandemic and many of them holding down jobs as well, and janai has a mother's day thank you to all the moms. Reporter: This past year creating new challenges for so many moms across the country with enormous support from their families of heartwarming gratitude. Kelly Klein, a kindergarten teacher, first battled stage 3 ovarian cancer five years ago. Over the summer, she was diagnosed with cancer again, but that didn't stop her from teaching her students even while in the hospital. The mother of two saying she's going to make the most of her time. Her son Connor and daughter Kenzie showing their loving I love you and I couldn't be a prouder son. You're the strongest woman I know, and you deserve to have the best mother's day. I love you so much. Reporter: For this family in Utah, the pandemic was devastating. Now a mother of four, losing her husband Val to covid earlier this year. What am I going to do? Like, he provided everything for us. Reporter: Her children making cards for mother's day showing their appreciation for just how strong their mother is. This is an icu nurse on the front lines. Last year she struck a delicate balance between her career and being a mother to two young children, looking forward to coming home to Grayson and asher, but taking extra precautions to keep them safe. I can't get close to you. Let me go change, okay? Reporter: Now both Lindsay and her husband SHAWN vaccinated. After a rough year, she's now become a different person, appreciating life and being more present with her kids. I can come home and kiss my husband and my kids. A year ago I walked in and I was 5 feet away from them, and that was heartbreaking for me to experience. Happy mother's day. And like that mom, a big happy mother's day to all of the moms who are on the front lines over the last year and a half or so. All the moms out there because it has been a tough year.
