Transcript for 'Millionaire Matchmaker' Patti Stanger answers viewers' quarantine dating questions
We're back with our summer of love in quarantine series. All week long we've been helping romantic hopefuls navigate the dating scene. We're joined now by "Millionaire matchmaker" Patti Stanger. She's going to answer questions from a few of our viewers. I think we have you do this segment because my dating life was so traumatic prior to meeting my husband. This first question is from Maddie in Massachusetts. She sent in the question for you. Let's take a look. When you're going on virtual dates, what's the best way to break the ice? Do you have any good suggestions of activities to do? This is pretty tough right now. We don't have a lot of choices. The number one thing everybody is doing is watching a movie they're also playing games. The most romantic thing you can do is send something like Uber eats or a romantic meal to your date. That's been working a lot. A lot of people are having to use the apps which is already a little bit awkward. What are some good things to remember as you use the apps? First of all, don't go all on one app. Do a lot of different apps, maybe three I'd say. Keep swiping. Change it up. If your profile isn't working, you need to redo your pictures, write something different. Have a friend look at your profile and say what do you think I should do? Sometimes we're not objective about ourselves. You have to market yourself on these apps. It's so uncomfortable. What if the apps aren't for you? Caroline has our next question. She says she doesn't love the apps, but doesn't feel like there's any other options to meet people because of the social distancing guidelines. Not true. The app should only be 25% of your search. Let's remember that. Everyone is not working. Everyone is out and about. It's still summer. Go to the beach, the dog park. Flirt on the grocery line or at the gas station or at the drugstore. Wherever your surroundings are people are walking around. They're inside their houses all day and are sequestered. The only thing you have to do is your eye make-up because you're wearing a mask. You don't have to do your makeup from here down. Thank you so much, Patti, for being with us this morning.
