Now to that major milestone in the race to vaccinate the country, more than 50% of all American adults have received at least one dose as all 50 states are making it available to everyone 16 and up. Kayna Whitworth has that. Reporter: This morning, open adults over 16 in all 50 states now able to sign up for the covid vaccine. This coming on the heels of a new milestone. According to the CDC more than half of all adults in the U.S. Have received at least one dose of a vaccine. Dr. Anthony Fauci telling Martha Raddatz on "This week" he anticipates a decision by the end of the week regarding Johnson & Johnson's vaccine which is being investigated over those extremely rare occurrences of blood clots. I would think that we're not going to go beyond Friday in the extension of this pause. There will very likely be a decision. Reporter: "The Wall Street journal" reporting the fda had initially considered only adding a warning to the company's vaccine but ultimately recommended a pause because of concerns that doctors wouldn't treat adverse reactions correctly. For millions inoculation can't come soon enough. With fears that the variants could be worse in children than the original strain, vaccine researchers are now focusing on kids. Dr. Zena goods' 3-year-old son was the first in his age group to take part in a pfizer vaccine trial. He got his first shot last week. He had a sore arm for like -- for a day and a little low on energy for a day. Reporter: His family enrolling their 7-month-old son. He gets his shot this week. Doctors say vaccinating children is essential to reaching herd immunity. Children under 18 make up 85 million people in this country. It's a substantial contribution to reducing transmission of the virus. Reporter: Now, in all roughly 5,000 kids will take part in that pfizer trial. They hope to have their results by late may or winter, also, George, moderna is starting to recruit children for its trial as well. Lots of progress there. Okay, thanks very much.
