It's one of the biggest draws of Amazon prime. Speedy two day or same-day delivery promise but some happy to snag deals saying their packages never arrived. Now, Amazon is explaining why. This morning, Amazon is trying to reassure customer as mid delivery delays just a week until the holiday shopping season. After a record Black Friday and cyber Monday, customers are taking to social media. One Twitter user writes what's the point of having an Amazon delivery day and then nothing gets delivered on that day. Another post reads, I pay for Amazon prime for a reason. Entire Christmas order lost in the ozone. Come on. Another says bad weather caused delays earlier but that, quote, we worked quickly to rebalance capacity across our networks setting customers up for a great rest of the season. The big hurdles that companies like Amazon are going to face is really about making sure their logistics and fulfillment is air tight, and how weather has an impact on that. Reporter: Amazon has been upping its holiday delivery game staffing fulfillment centers with more than 300,000 full and part-time associates, building its over delivery network even leasing jets and building package sorting hubs at airports. With the shortest shopping season in year, the pressure is on. When you're the company that is leading the pack in terms of supply chain innovation and logistics, then you're going to be the first company that's going to be making the mistakes. Amazon tells us they're serving customers with their fastest delivery speeds ever and other major retailers like target and Walmart are also investing big here but with the holiday season that's almost a week shorter than usual experts advise things could get hectic so you may have to practice patience this holiday season.
