Transcript for Family thanks heroes who rushed to save kids from burning building
A window was the only way out when a couple's apartment went up in flames. They were forced to rely on strangers to save their most precious possessions -- their children. Now they're getting a chance to say thank you. ABC's Zachary kiesch has more now on the story. Reporter: Through the thick billowing smoke and with no other way out, watch as this father drops his two month-old baby into the arms of a total stranger nearby. Construction worker said, when they heard the cries they ran over to help. I just seen a bunch of yellow vests there. I put my faith in them. He did what he was supposed to do. We saw the smoke coming out of the window and we saw him hanging out with his 2-month-old daughter. We heard help, help. I got under him. Told him to drop the baby. Reporter: Moments later, he drops his 2-year-old boy to the men. Both children got out okay. They were able to get out through that window and down by ladder. Thank you so much. Reporter: We were there for the emotional reunion. Oh, my gosh. Man saved your life, honey. Reporter: The family calling their rescue a miracle. He's my hero, my daughter's hero, my son's hero, my wife's hero. We wouldn't be here if not for these two men right here. Just incredible video. It's hard to imagine what was going through that father's mind as he held his children outside that window and dropped them down to a total stranger. But this is a story obviously that ends well. Zachary, thank you very much great to see you on a Sunday. Now, we keep talking about this heat because it won't go
