Transcript for A mother and daughter are facing charges in a baby snatching plot
We're back now with a story of a mother and daughter facing charges in what police say appears to be a baby-snatching plot. Detectives say the two posed as photographers who took pictures of infants, possibly drugging a new mom, and ABC's Marci Gonzalez is in our L.A. Bureau with much more on this. Marci, good morning. Reporter: Dan, good morning to you. We've now heard from several mothers said the offer seemed too good to pass up. A free photo shoot and the opportunity to help another mom starting a new business, but investigators say it was all just a disturbing employ. Juliette parker candidate -- Reporter: This woman and her daughter are in police custody after investigators say they posed as newborn photographers in a plot to try to kidnap a baby. She wanted a girl and she wanted them 5 weeks or younger. So she called raise her herself. Reporter: Police say the suspect 38-year-old Juliette parker, seen in this campaign video for her failed run for mayor of Colorado Springs, posted this in Facebook group, offering free newborn photo sessions to build up her portfolio. Investigators say a single mom in Washington state responded, inviting parker into her home multiple times. The woman telling police during the third session, parker's 16-year-old daughter brought her a cupcake, immediately after eating it, the woman said she became numb, drowsy and began vomiting. Basically she was drug. Reporter: Before she left, the woman said that parker took selfies with baby, wiped fingerprints off of everything she touched. And stole her house keys. Amanda said she also responded to that same Facebook ad. She informed she wasn't looking for a boy. Reporter: So did Victoria Morris, posing for these photos and inviting parker to take pictures in the delivery room when her baby girl was born. When I saw the post about the accusations made towards her and I messaged her and asked her if they were true and she said, no. Reporter: But investigators say they were so convinced officers stepped in to change the locks on that first mother's doors, keeping watch over her home as they built their case. And parker is now charged with assault and attempted kidnapping. Her daughter is also in custody this morning, both are expected in court Tuesday and investigators say they believe other women may have also been targeted. So more charges could still be added. Whit. A disturbing case. Marci Gonzalez for us, thank you.
