Now we turn to new developments in the Eric Garner investigation. Officer Daniel Pantaleo is fighting now to rejoin the force after being fired for the chokehold death of garner. New York's police union was outraged over the decision to fire him in the first place. Garner's family says there's still more to be done. Some of the top brass learning about the firing by watching it on TV ultimately. This was the police commissioner's decision. One he says he knew may not be popular with his brothers and sisters in blue. This morning, the officer fired for the chokehold death of Eric Garner filing an appeal to get his job back. Five years after garner died on a New York street, Daniel Pantaleo fired. Every time I watch that video I say to myself as probably all of you do to Mr. Garner, don't do it. Comply. To officer Pantaleo, don't do it. Reporter: The police commissioner making the final call after an NYPD judge recommended Pantaleo be terminated despite his denials he used a banned chokehold. Reporter: But an outraged police union accusing the commissioner of bowing to public The leadership has abandoned ship and left our police offices on the street alone. Reporter: Pantaleo's firing a measure of justice for the garner family would pushed for years but never saw charges filed against that officer. Yi, he's fired, but the fight is not over. We will continue to fight. I lost my son. You cannot replace that. You can get another job. Maybe at burger king, okay? Reporter: And the family is pushing for the other officers involved to be disciplined. This as they are fighting for an Eric Garner law that would make police chokeholds illegal. Robin.
