Good morning TJ this is a huge case the supreme court for the third time preserving the Affordable Care Act obamacare tens of millions of Americans. Get their health care through the affordable care Iraq. And they can breathe easy now the court by a 72 majority including two of the justices appointed by president Donald Trump. Said that the real problem in this case a was that the people who brought Republicans. In Texas. It didn't really suffer any injury. That the court could remedy and that is a key principle of American constitutional law courts don't just issue opinions Willy Nilly on whether or not a law is good. People have to come to courts where they cog visible injury and in this case these were two people who came to the Supreme Court. As saying that they were forced to buy health insurance by the individual mandate that the court took note. Then a couple years ago the Republicans in congress eliminated the financial penalties attacks that you had to pay if you didn't get health insurance. And so there was no enforcement of this law the problem here for the Republican plaintiffs. Is that well they complained about the law the law didn't injure them in over wrote in an opinion by justice Stephen Breyer he said in a ward. They have not shown that any kind of government action or conduct has caused the injury that they are claiming. So obamacare survives. Thirty million plus Americans retain their health insurance.
