Yankee stadium here is expanding its hours for vaccinations now allowing people to book appointments 24 hours per day and those overnight appointments are specifically for the new single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The pace of the vaccine rollout is picking up steam as public health officials are urging Americans and states not to let their guards down. This morning president Biden calling out states like Texas and Mississippi for dropping mask mandates and lifting most I think it's a big mistake. The last thing we need is neanderthal thinking that if the meantime, everything is fine, take off your mask, forget it. Reporter: Dr. Anthony Fauci warning against claiming victory too soon. I don't know why they're doing it but certainly from a public health standpoint is ill-advised. Reporter: The CDC saying the next few months are critical with the country on the cusp of a potential fourth wave driven by new variants. Since the peak in early January, hospitalizations have dropped by 65% but the CDC pointing to a slightly uptick. Covid cases increasing 3.5% within the last week. Fatalities up more than 2%. Overnight Mississippi's governor standing by his decision. We are just simply doing the things to give our people the power back to do what they think is best for themselves and their family. Reporter: Texas opening businesses to full capacity and ending its mask mandate next week. Some applauding the move. I'm about done with masks. Reporter: But the state has seen daily cases increase 75% over the last ten days and ranks 48th in administering vaccines per capita. Concern growing among many on the front lines like this nurse, Brittany smart, fearful of what's to come. Regarding what's going to happen a lot of people have been fortunate to not see what's happened behind the scenes. People are dying every day. It's frustrating. Reporter: Now the governor of Texas may be dropping the mask mandate but many major businesses are not.
