Now to our sexiest star secrets. All week we'll hear from some of hollywood's biggest names about how they look their best. This morning, cameron diaz, here to talk about her book, "the body book." Thank you for coming in. We have enjoyed having your he here. You're not trying to say you're an expert. Not at palm I spoke to experts to compile the information. It's not an instructional book. It's an informative book. A book that quifs you information about your body, the science of your body. How it works around nutrition and fitness, the lack of. And the actual you know, well being of your body. You're really passionate about this. I am. Everyone has something. What sit? Why now? Why is it that you're wanting to share this? I just feel like we -- why don't we have this information? This is information about our body. Our body is -- we're with it from beginning to end, all day long. From birth to the end of our journey. We're if our body. And we know nothing about it. We don't learn about it in school at all. We learn now read and write and to do arithmetic to get a job and buy food. But what is food? What does it do? How does it work in our body? How does our body extract nutrition? What are vitamins, carbs, fats, sugars? In the world of fitness and health, we get so much information about diets and what you should and shouldn't do to look a certain way. Nobody talks about what your body actually does with those things. Why those may or may not be a good idea. And how it actually makes you feel and how that affects you and how you can go through the world, go through your life actually making yourself healthier rather than fighting against things, the choices that you make that make your body not feel the way you want it to. You have had a conversation with women. The book cover is beautiful. If you take it off and on the cover, your photographer, you took these great photographs of a lot of women and you -- i watched the video. The conversation that you had with them. Just about different body issues. The women were so wonderful. I want people to know that this bok is for them. This is not a book about me, not about my body. There's nothing in there that says, you know, I share my experience and how I have applied the knowledge. This is about them. Women about their bodies. And we all visit. It's for everyone. I wanted to understand how these women felt in their own bodies because, you know, I want this book to represent them. I want them to be able to go in and find the answers to those exact questions that they have about their bodies. And, when I did the photo shoot, it was conscious because i wanted to cover of the book to be other women. Of courses you have to put a picture of yourself on it because -- but when you take the sleeve off, the book itself is all -- pictures of women of all shapes, sizes, ethnicitiethnicities. I felt that is what this -- who the book is for and who it's about. And it's dedicated to them. In the minute we have left, let's talk about water. We know water is better than the sports drink. But we don't realize, 14 more grams of sugar? Three tablespoons of sugar. And they're usually larger than that. If you have the 12-ounce, just imagine. We think we're doing the right thing, okay, I'm going the eat oatmeal. If you have the one at the has the fruit flavor or something like that, it's 15 more grams of sugar. Another three table spoons. Add berries to it and get the nutrition and the sweetness. And this one was shocking to us. Yogurt. It's convenient with the fruit at the bottom. That's 30 more grams of sugar? We look at this, it's three -- three tablespoons more. Six tablespoons more. What does that mean? What does sugar do to my body. There are different kinds of shoeingers. This is refined sugars. It puts inflammation in your body. It taxes your pancreas. What is insulin? What does it do? The bookholds the information so hen you're making a choice, you're like, wait a second, if i put that in my body, my body will react this way. In the long term, I'm going to be subjected to diabetes and heart disease and all these things I don't want to deal with as I fete older. This book is about how to age gracefully and how the have longevity and how to, as you live your life, as you go forward, be stronger, better, more capable than you thought you could be.
