Transcript for Donald Trump Threatens to Sue The New York Times
Let's move to the republicans and the major fallout from that "The New York times" article questioning Donald Trump's treatment of women. ABC's Jon Karl joins us from Washington with the latest and, Jon, trump now threatening to sue that newspaper. Reporter: Good morning, Amy. That's right. His lawyers are saying a lawsuit is a distinct possibility. In the meantime, he has been on an all-out Twitter storm against "The times." One typical tweet no wonder "The New York times" is failing. Who can believe what they write after the false, malicious and libellous story they did on me. Of course, the trump campaign has been given a gift by "The times." The woman who is the lead anecdote has come out to say that she was misled, that "The times" mischaracterized what she had to say and she has only good things to say about her relationship with Donald Trump. And, Jon, we just saw in Cecilia's piece that onslaught of ads about to hit trump. His opponents gearing up to spend $6 million in just the next few weeks. How is team trump preparing to respond? Reporter: Yeah, it's even more than that because they have committed to spending over $10 million after the primaries are over. The trump campaign begins this vastly outgunned by all of the traditional metrics for campaigns and have very little money in the bank for any of this. There is no trump super pac up and running although there are two that are now being formed and trump will respond to this the way he did in the primary, when he is hit, he hits back times ten. Nothing off-limits but fighting through social media and through his own statements, he is way behind the democrats on this. They have been preparing for a long time to take him on. All right, Jon Karl, we appreciate it.
