We're back now with that yedlin STO incredible story of a father and daughter undergoing the gender reassignment process together and "Nightline's" juju Chang our good friend is here and this is such a moving, touching story. Jaw-dropping shore about an amazing family. There are two generations, a metaphor for the journey and both say they knew as kids something was off with their gender but Corey came out at 15 and mom watched her daughter brave the bullies. She said then she could no longer deny she too was transgender. They've always had a special mother/son bond but together they transitioned to father/daughter. Learning from each other every step of the way. I always felt male. I didn't reel what it was. Reporter: Eric mason says he struggled with it his entire life. I didn't know why I was so sad. Why I was so ashaped of my body. Reporter: It wasn't until Eric's 15-year-old daughter Corey began her own transition five years ago that Eric decided it was time to come out as transgendered. A lot of types there were people that just were pretty awful to her and she still kept her head high so it was amazing. I just saw this brave child facing the world and I finally said to myself, if she can do this, so can I. Reporter: Last year Corey's transgender anthem went viral raising anti-bullying awareness, something she says she's experienced plenty of. It's been hard because I would get spit on, called names, shoved. It was hard because at one point I almost wanted to kill myself. Reporter: Theiring share incredible journey together with the world to help others who may be struggling. I think Corey's transition brought about a lot of education, brought about a lot of us researching what it meant to be transgender. Reporter: Eric says his five kids still call him mom. I don't really think anything's changed other than maybe we're closer because I think that we both understand what the other one is going through on a deeper level. Reporter: Eric's spouse says the transition left him with many questions. I got involved in a lot of support groups. I got -- and I asked a lot of questions, number one, for me is does this make my gay? Does it change anything between my spouse and myself? No. It doesn't. It made it better. It made it more peaceful. Reporter: But ultimately they say it strengthened their marriage. It's not about the shell that you walk around in. It's about the person that you are. It's about the person that I fell in love with ten plus years ago. Reporter: Les' acceptance and support has shown Eric another side to his husband. This is a different side of him that I didn't know existed. The acceptance and just the respect and the admiration just it made me fall in love with him all over again. Reporter: What a love story. Of course, Eric and Corey have both undergone years of counseling and a mental health assessment before starting hormones mom used to start a double mastectomy. To see your child going through that and to give you the courage to do it yourself. To be inspired like that together. Ah. Thank you for sharing that with us, juju. Coming up, America's olympic
