Moving on now to the royal engagement just moments ago. The town crier made the announcement at kensington palace. Oh, yea, oh, yea. Buckingham palace proudly announce the engagement of prince Harry and Meghan Markle. God save the queen. Official. That's so cool. ABC's Diane Macedo is here with more on Meghan Markle and her family. So much to talk about, Diane. You all had your wedding announced that way too, right? Doesn't everybody? A little more on Meghan Markle though. We know she's beautiful. We know she's talented and has captured prince Harry's heart but there is a lot more to her. So here's a closer look at the future princess and the family prib will call his in-laws. She's the 36-year-old American actress who stole prince Harry's heart. You told me you were going to sign the letter. No. So you lied to me. Reporter: Now set to be an American princess, a look back at their relationship shows Markle joining Harry at polo matches and a friend's wedding in Jamaica and even pipal's wedding this past may and step the out together at the invictus games in September seen holding hands with Markle's mother joining the couple in a private box. They even took a romantic birthday trip for Meghan to Africa. Now, they're engaged and that means Meghan Markle's family is bringing some American flare to her new royal in-laws. Her mother Doria is a social worker and yoga instructor. Her father Thomas Emmy award winning lighting director. She often posts throwback pictures on social media. She will be the first and that's an amazing development. Reporter: She has a half-sister and half brother on her father's side but she reportedly isn't close to them. He didn't grow up alongside them or live in the same house for them for very long. Reporter: Although her spafrn spafrntss split when she was 2 she's still close to them telling "Vanity fair" I never saw them fight. We would still take vacations together. My dad would come on supplements to drop me off and we'd watch yelp jep eating dinner on TV tray, the three of us. We were still so close-knit and grew up on TV sets often visiting her father on the set of "Married with children" telling "Vanity fair" her parents had been supportive of her wanting to act saying my father knew how hard it is for an actor to get work so above all people was so proud I was able to beat the odds. Meghan's family is very ordinary family, very working class family, she's had to herself do many jobs Ford to support herself as she's been becoming an actress. Reporter: She reveals more of her in this originally filmed for "Suit S." Favorite pizza topping. Chili peppers. How could you last without your phone. A scene. Reporter: A true American success story but in the past someone with Meghan's background would not be age to marry into the royal family. Meghan is a divorcee married before for two years and in the history of the British royal family that has been something that has been a big problem. Reporter: Shthough she's done enough to win over the royal family and her future husband prince Harry and now only the first six people in line have to ask permission. Harry is number six and did need her approval. My favorite part about all this he asked her parents as well. Oh, I love that. So exciting. Thank you so much, Diane. We want to bring in Duncan larcombe who just wrote a book on prince Harry and Victoria Murphy our royal contribute in and ask what is Meghan Markle in for now that she has signed up for this? Wow, well, it it can be pretty daunting marrying into the royal family and obviously as you can see from today there's a lot of interest in the royal family. It can be maybe a bit like a cage or a gilded cage with all eyes on you and will of course now when she marries Harry be expected to carry out official duties. Expected to be a working member of the royal family taking on charities, attending events and supporting the queen and other Royals. Duncan, it has been a long road to love for Harry. We've been documenting it very steadfastly here in America. But tell us why Meghan Markle is the one for him? How did she steal his heart? Well, I think when news of Meghan's relationship with Harry first broke last year, she didn't seem to check any boxes. A million followers on Twitter or Instagram. Every single month has gone by and seemed more and more perfect for him. She might have to stop her role as an actress on "Suits" but I think her role as an actress on a global stage is just beginning. I want to ask Victoria about that. What will her duties entail? Well, I think what we'll see in the next few months before the wedding is that we'll see a gradual buildup of duties so she'll make maybe two or three official appearances with Harry and they can be anything from attending the opening of a school or a hospital, meeting the people there. To supporting a specific charity. We already know that Meghan has a lot of charitable interests. He's done work with U.N. And worldvision and a lot of things she might want to bring in as she grows her role in the royal family. When they're married they'll do tours, they'll travel the world like William and Kate have done visiting commonwealth countries and other countries around the world and really being ambassadors for Britain and for the royal family. So many firsts with this couple and so a lot of people want to know what this wedding will look like. Will it be more modern than William and Kate's, as tradition imposes on them. What are the rules for them ask can they break them and do whatever they want? We want to know what the wedding will look like. Yeah, I think if Harry had his way he'd get married in a small church have a few beers with a small group of friends. That's not going to happen. After the queen he is the most popular British royal and the public love him. I think it's going to be 2 billion on TV like his brother. Do you think they've talked about the fact that Harry is so different and she is American. Do you think that we'll see some American flourishes or do you think this will be steeped in royal history? I think they'll be a lot of royal traditions followed, like William and Kate it will be a huge wedding, probably televised and a lot of pomp and circumstance. The British military, the pageantry that we saw surrounding William and Kate will all get involved. However, you know, Harry does like to do things his own way and will want to put his stamp on the day, so will Meghan and I think we will see personal touches. 9 best part will probably be the after-party but unfortunately we won't get to be at that. This is actually a very sad day for us as tabloid journalists because this is rest in peace, party prince Harry. We've now got Harry the dad, Harry the husband. Boring from now on. Let's focus on the positive. We'll all be watching. Every step of the way and thank you to Duncan and Victoria. My guess is we'll be talking to
