Time for feel good Friday. Earlier this week I sat down with Melinda Gates as part of the social good summit. The takeaway is it's everyone's responsibility to empower women and girls. And this morning, we bring you a prime example. One teen making a difference in the life of another young woman thousands of miles away. It's the unlikely centerhood that blossomed half a world away. In June, 14-year-old Lilly Daniels made a 7,286 mile trek from her home in bethel, Connecticut, with her aunt, uncle and cousin to Kenya. The teen, eager to make a difference outside of her own community. Lilly partnered with big life foundation, a conservation group in east Africa. Raising funds to sponsor 15-year-old seien's, to rebuild desks and bring supplies for the children. On my birthday, instead of gifts, my mom and me asked for money to bring to the school for supplies. Reporter: In all, Lilly raised $370, enough to pay for her to attend school for two years. Which prevented her from being sold into an arranged marriage to a much older man. On the last day of Lilly's trip, she was able to meet the girl who's life path she helped alter.
