Transcript for Winter Blast Dumps Record Snow in South
We turn to that blast of winter dumping record snow in the south. More than a foot in some areas and possible nor'easter targeting millions this weekend, ginger tracking it all. Yeah, that's more than a foot in Amarillo, Texas, overnight. Look at those trees heavy with all that snow. Video too. They had four inch per hour snowfall rates. That is incredible. They haven't had this much snow in almost two years. And it's almost three times their monthly average. So, yes, snow still falling in west Texas but will start to become all rain from Houston into New Orleans. That's the heavy rain going into overnight or early Friday and Friday into Saturday a wet one for Atlanta up the coast and this is what we're watching. If it grabs enough cold air you may have freezing rain and snow mixed in. The track is the biggest issue and we will be tracking it for the coming days and giving you more detail especially tomorrow. Heavy rain I can promise you Tallahassee back to Houston.
