A snowstorm snarling up parts of the west and so many here in the east without power after the ice storm. You know ginger is tracking it all for us. Good morning, ginger. Portland, Oregon had 3 1/2 inches of snow. Their biggest February know in 20 years. So this is a big deal out west. They have winter storm warnings and advisories all over. More snow especially for the mountains up to four feet possible but, of course, we've got to talk about the east and that south that is so cold this morning, all the way to Maryland and Pennsylvania where we're still without electricity and heat. From colossal pileup. This is insane. This is probably 50 cars. Reporter: To icy river rescues. Winter weather walloping coast-to-coast, in Pennsylvania, a state of emergency, hundreds of thousands without power and heat. Extremely cold inside. Reporter: Some of the damage believed to be worse than with hurricane sandy. The workers weren't dealing with ice and snow. Reporter: This woman in Lancaster trapped inside her home for nine hours. I was getting colder and colder by the minute. Reporter: In Kentucky ice chucks sent this restaurant on the Ohio river loose from its holding cable. It was a wild ride for the restaurant workers before they were rescued by a tugboat. While the east coast is dealing with all that fresh white stuff one person died in this 27-car pileup in Oregon while in southern Washington amateur cameras captured this nightmare on I-5. Look at this situation. Oh, my god. Smashed under. That guy is smashed under it. That exact situation could happen again today, even Portland, Oregon will get another couple inches. Look at all the snow that happens throughout the next 48 hours. Some places three or even four feet of snow. The great news some of the lower elevations get a lot of rain. We're talking 3 to 5 inches of rain that will be so helpful for northern California this weekend.
