Transcript for Boston Marathoners Pick Up Participation Medals
The thousands of runners who were still on the Boston Marathon course when the bombs went off -- something of -- finish line yesterday in downtown Boston. They were able to -- claim their belongings from marathon volunteers and they were given a medal for participating in the race. Everyone had them and a had a unique story about this experience. And of course -- shock me you know not that I didn't believe my sister and nobody around me really seems to know anything and nothing was out of the usual runners kept going. But -- I decided to leave the route and even running through the streets. Now her sister was across the street from where those bombs went off she said the second blast rattled her teeth. That she was hit by small pieces of shrapnel -- was on hurt. You know going back to those metals really that's. What it's all about for a lot of the runners were kind of in the middle of the pack yet to be able to say that -- -- you know Tony six and a half miles as there is no small feat that's another panel looks like. And I think especially this marathon the people who were there yet. Everybody deserves attention not -- and everybody there -- participating I don't appreciate -- everybody deserved award the medal and everybody's a winner. This might be don't want this is the one.
