I was he's yours and you're watching ABC news live. We're here at the naval air weapons station in China lake where last week the basement heavily damaged following goes back to back earthquakes. Today we're taking a first look at some of the damage and cleanup. Take a look at the comet theory where much of the base and military and civilian personnel shot. You can see amount of work and cleanup that needs to happen before it's back up and running many of the ceiling tiles came crashing to the floor during their earthquake along with items on shelves. The base is slowly reopening its facilities as they assess damage to buildings and call back personnel that had been told to stay home unless ordered to report for duty. Some of the worst damage could be seen at the chapel near the roof line major cracks tore open sections of the wall. Religious services for the time being have been suspended. Well at Richmond elementary school on the basic theme of architects have been deployed to inspect any structural damage. The school which is set to open in six weeks for the start of the new year was left in shambles. The base employs roughly 5000 military and civilian personnel at the naval testing site.
