And rough weather is playing a role in another story we are breaking tonight. A deadly fire in a packed ferry ship in windy, choppy waters off Greece. Hundreds of passengers troped trapped on board including children. The rescue under way right now. Here is hamish Macdonald. Reporter: The nail biting moment a mother and children are pulled to safety. They are rescued from a burning ship. But it's a race against time. Tonight that ship is still burning and hundreds are still stranded. The ship carries 500 people had left the Greek island sailing towards Italy. Fire broke out on the car deck and hundreds are on the upper decks awaiting rescue. There were hundreds of containers of oil and they went on fire. Floors started collapsing from the heat. One passengers capture the these images before being rescued. Flames and outside they wait for help. At least 160 people have been evacuated but gale force winds and poor visibility are hampering efforts. One man died when he jumped overboard. Merchant ships nearby are lining up to build a barrier to protect from the towering waves. Some say their shoes melted from the heat. We are hearing desperate accounts from those on board. Outside, cold, surrounded by smoke and they are frantically asking for help.
