Reporter: The parents of two teenk girls spoke publicly for the first time about the para sailing accident that injured alexis fairchild and sidney good. The two were parasailing while on vacation in panama beach, florida, when their line snapped. Strong winds hurled the girls into two buildings. The company, aquatic adventures, says that while they adhere to best practices to minimize risks, sudden weather conditions can occur. There is no federal regulation of the parasailing industry, and in florida, all you need is a safe vessel and captain's license. I wouldn't put my children in a harness operated by an operator here in the state of florida until we have these safety requirements. Reporter: Florida state senator maria sachs has been fighting for safety regulations. There have been 429 serious injuries and 73 fatalities involved in para sailing over the last three decades in the u.S.
