Michael Strahan has a busy summer ahead of him on "Good morning America" and "The new $100,000 pyramid." Joy is mad she wasn't on. So we're glad he found a minute to stop by and hang with us. Welcome back, Michael Strahan. Thank you. Thank you. It's always great to be back. Joy, I promise whoever did the casting you're out of there. You're in. They're out. That's all right. I'll get to that in a minute. It was announced today that you sat down for a one on one with Obama about all kinds of Oh, yeah. In an upcoming ABC special honoring juneteenth. What did he have to say about the world? You know, he very much talked about how we all need to come together. He was encouraged because he saw all the different races and people come together after the death of George Floyd and so many others. That was encouraging to him. He called it a racial reckoning you should say. He noted it was a very different protest from what we had with the civil rights. We talked about the civil rights protests and the things we're allowed to do as African-Americans that we weren't allowed to do not so long ago. It wasn't so long ago we were fighting for things we take for granted now. Very candid. Very open. Progress is slow sometimes unfortunately. Michael, this is the fifth season you're hosting "The $100,000 pyramid." I'm not trying to brag. The last time I was on the show in 2018, I helped a contestant to win 50 Gs. They did not invite me back. Was it something I said, or don't they like a winner? On the other hand you have a great celebrity lineup, including our very own Sara Haines. We have a sneak peek of her. Let's watch. The great test of ease. Describe the words that each contain for Es. Football game there's a -- Cheerleader. The declaration of -- Independence. Blank Herman -- George. This might be too old for you. I don't have to go -- I have to go -- As only Sara could do. As only Sara could do. The show was so much fun. Joy, you know, you were on the show. Joy, you said you don't want to brag on yourself. You did it. You won someone $50,000. I didn't know what to expect from Sara. I knew she practiced a lot. My girl plowed through it. She crushed it. It is a fun episode to the watch. Obviously she doesn't have to poo. She has to pee. Meghan, this is you. Hi, Michael. I don't want to go on your show. I get very nervous. Have joy on instead. You have four kids including 16-year-old twin daughters Sophia and Isabella, who I hear have convinced you to take part in tiktok dances. They're so gorgeous. How is that going so far? Thank you. It's going. I don't get it. They'll say, hey, dad, do this tiktok with me. Once I lose the -- I start going rogue. I do whatever I want to do. I'm just not -- we were doing one thing and I realized I'm not what I used to be. I was doing one and caught a cramp in my hamstring. This might be it. They were not supposed to air that one. That was the cramp in the hamstring. I told them, if I post anything of my kids, they say why did you post that? You didn't get my approval. I told them not to post that one with the cramp. They don't care what I say. They're great. Thank you. I love it. You could not be as cool as Sophia and Isabella. Quit trying to make tiktok you posted the sweetest tribute to your parents on memorial day, which would have also been their 64th wedding anniversary. You lost your dad, gene, last August, and I know how much you looked up to him. Tell us about that and how you're looking out for your mom Louise now more than ever. You know, my dad was my hero. He believed in me more than I believed in myself. He pushed me to do things I never imagined I could do. Being a major in the army, I was so proud of my dad and wanted to make him proud. So, you know, when he passed, it was the hardest thing I've ever had to go through so far. Also, I think it brings the family closer. I talk to my mom every day. Hi, mama. She's watching the show now. I love to communicate with my mom and talk to her every day. I'll see her this weekend. Sara, you gave me the greatest gift ever. You flew down there on your day off, leaving your kids and husband at home to talk to my parents for hours and you gave me the hard drive of it. They played some of it for me the other day at something. It was the first time I heard my dad's voice since August. Yeah, that was special. You gave me something no one else could ever give me. Thank you. I love you even more for that. I love you, Michael. I love your parents. So sweet. Well, before we let you go, we have to ask you about the April fool's day prank you pulled that broke the internet. You posted a photo of yourself with the gap, your famous gap, fix and the smile. People really fell for it. I fell for it, Michael. I was texting you about it. Now, when you Google Michael Strahan, the first question that comes up is did Michael Strahan really get his teeth fixed? Any regrets about the prank that got yours truly? There were regrets. My buddy did it, Dr. Lee, he said let's do it. I don't pay attention to social media like that. I don't have it on my phone or anything. I'm on vacation. Next thing there's 500 messages, 20 facetimes. I'm like -- first I was panicked. What did I do? What happened? How did I screw up? I'm not even at work. I saw the reaction and I actually felt bad. I had to tell so many people it was not real. I had so much support like you do you, Michael. You left gap nation, but we're proud of you. The gap is here to stay longer. When I retire, maybe I will. No. The gap needs to remain. Don't do that. You know what I did -- I will tell you this, whoopi. When I did have that -- I needed space for my tongue to talk. My tongue was trapped. Yeah, it's a whole thing. You're stuck in there with nowhere to go. Your tongue is like help. You know what, but I have something -- whoopi, before I go, I was wondering how would my girls at "The view" look with gaps in their teeth. There you go. Look at you. Oh, thanks. Thanks, Michael. I kind of like it. I come from a gap family. My mom had a gap. My daughter has a gap. I'm not the gap girl. It was cute. Listen, "The $100,000 pyramid" airs tonight. Then the juneteenth special premiers on June 19th. Of course, "Gma" every day. Love to see you, Michael
