A lot of the a-listers who may be hungover are looking ahead to tonight's big show, and ABC's Adrienne Bankert is there in L.A. With a busy night. What's popping? Reporter: Good to be with y'all. I had friends who were out partying until about 3:00 A.M. Which was when I was coming in to work and be with y'all from L.A. It's music's biggest night and the pre-party is epic. The gala hosted by Clive Davis is a tribute to pioneers and embraces newer artists who will hit the grammys stage for the first time. Ahead of the grammy awards, the stars shined bright for the gala. Travis Scott gives us a taste who have what's to come Sunday night. ?????? on the red carpet, George Clinton brought his funkadelic sound. ??? One nation under ??? Jurs before he nabs the lifetime achievement award. ??? If it's meant to be, it will be ??? Reporter: And first time nominee Florida Georgia line competing for best country group performance and bringing the sounds of the generation. ??? Baby, lay on back and relax ??? ?????? Reporter: Another first-timer, Ella Mai is nominated twice for "boo'd up," and is showing up in style. We were going R, like, a very inspired look to pay homage to the people I'm super inspired by. Reporter: But tonight, the real party starts. Breakout song bird Brandi Carlile performs and is nominated for a whopping six awards, including record of the year. We're going with it. It's an honer and we're going to relax and every second of it in the present. Reporistory could be made as Linda Perry may become the first female to win producer of the year, and she had a message for young women hoping to get into the industry. They don't have to be pop stars dancing around on stage. They can be strong female producers. Reporter: Kendrick Lamar leads the field with eight nominations. ?????? including album of the year. Drake right behind him with seven, though neither plan to perform. ??? Tell me something, boy ??? lady gaga will do a rendition of "Shallow," but without her co-star, Bradley cooper from "A star is born," and how could we forget the Carters? Notably absent, Ariana grande after the singer got in an online spat with the grammy producer over a dispute of which songs she would be allowed to sing. ??? Thank U, next ??? We do know who is we talked to Eva Ross, son of the incomparable Diana Ross. He said he even gets goosebumps when she sings, but she will be singing as she celebrates her 75th birthday. She has the motivation for her album and I got love advice from Alice cooper and his wife. I thought you guys would want to know about. Alice cooper? Doesn't he have, like, blood? What was the advice? Reporter: It's interesting. Think about how long his career has been, but he has been married to Sheryl for 43 years. When I asked him what the secret was to that success, he said, it's being being in love and not just loving that person. I asked what that meant and she said, he still pursues me as if I'm not his. Love is a verb. He apparently is -- yeah. Putting that into practice. Yeah. A lot of love. Thank you, Adrienne. A lot of love on the red carpet tonight. The pursuit of loving. Thank you, Adrienne.
