Transcript for Mariah Carey named a 2020 Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee
Yeah, well, now it is time for "Pop news" with Sara Haines. What's up, Sara? Happy Friday. We begin this morning with Mariah Carey. It is one sweet day for the singer as she has been named as an inductee into the songwriters hall of flame, class of 2020. Now, this comes on the heels of Mariah scoring her 19th number one hit and now that means she has more number ones than any other solo artist tweeting this is truly one of the greatest honors of my career. I'm so proud and humbled to be in the company of such legendary songwriters both previously inducted as well as the incredible class of 2020 and is in good companies. Some other members include the Isley brothers, the eurythmics made up of Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart and Pharrell Williams and the Neptunes. That's a great class. Big congratulations to them all. Do you think they get a ring or something? No. Only Michael wears a ring. I just wondered if you're in the hall of fame you got to get some bling-bling. Now the Jonas brothers are showing no signs of slowing down after making their big comeback last year with a new album and highly successful tour. The J. Bros are giving us more music. It dropped another single called "What a man gotta do" and lucky for us it came with a music video. This time they are paying homage to some of their favorite movies and their wives are along for the ride again. Take a look. So what a man gotta do what a man got to do to be totally locked up by you what a man gotta say what a man gotta pray to be your last good nite and your first good day Now, that is fun. Do you recognize some movies? A little "Grease." "Risky business." Yeah. And "Say anything" as well. Whoa. Hello and it looked like the brothers have more up their sleeves. They be on the lookout for big news very soon. How cool to work with your brothers and then the wives as they marry in? It's like a set gig. Big, happy family. Big happy family. And finally this is a good one. We're thanking Betty white for being a friend to all of us for 98 wonderful years. Whoo! It is her birthday. And if you can believe it she's been on TV for more than 75 years including "The Mary Tyler Moore show," "The golden girls" and "Hot in Cleveland." Yeah, she accumulated 24 Emmy nominations and won 8 so what does she credit her longevity to? She once joked it's her pets, vodka and hot dogs. And she said that finding humor in every situation has allowed her to live such a happy life. Twitter is full of well wishes for Betty like this gif from "The golden girls." Right there. Yeah, baby. She is going into Friday and her birthday -- we hope that's how she's celebrated. Can you believe it, 98 year. Happy birthday, Betty white. Also slightly younger, my husband, so he has not been on TV and is not 75 but it's a personal happy birthday, baby.
