I'm pretty sure you're going to remember our next guest as the adorable tootie on the '80s it was literally my favorite show growing up, "The facts of life," and as Regine hunter on the hit '90s show, "Living And now she's starring in a brand-new show, has a new role on Netflix, it's "The upshaws," take a look at this. Mom, we're out of body wash. I got you. There you go. That will run you a whole 'nother week. Oh, god, are we poorer than usual? What did we do? Part of my going back to school means we all have to pinch pennies around here. Yeah, but why do we all have to suffer? You want fancy body wash or do you want your choir trip paid for? Well, I don't want to go to my choir trip smelling like tap water. Let's bring her in. Miss Kim fields. Kim fields, so good to have you back here with us. How you been? I'm great. How about you guys? Good to see all of you. We are doing great today. And, look, this is -- folks are used to, or they think they know what a family sitcom is supposed to be, but this one, y'all include all the mess that families can have as well. Exactly. The most wonderful operative word in everything you said is mess. When Wanda and Mike were creating the show, and then brought Regina hicks into the fold who finished up creating the show, that was one of the three tenets that they wanted to adhere to, being super, super funny, very relevant, and messy. And so when you add all of that together, and then you add Wanda, Mike and Netflix, you get this really great irreverent family comedy that people really have not seen before. Now, do we have it right? Is this a birthday for you? Today is the day? It is. It's your birthday. Yes, it is. I'm kicking off my birthday with you guys and I couldn't be happier. Happy birthday. Happy birthday to you. Now, I don't know if us saying happy birthday to you, robach and I, would be just as meaningful as these guys singing happy birthday to you, so I want you to take a look and listen. Hey, babe, you knew I had to be a part of the celebration here in Georgia holding it down wishing you the happiest birthday ever, we can't wait to have you back to work, and have a great happy, happy birthday, we love you, we love you. Have a great trip. Can't wait to see you. Come home. Happy birthday. We love you. Oh. Yep, that was better. That was better. Yes, she didn't react to us like that. Thank you so much. You know, when you're a gypsy and you have this, you know, this adventurous life of being a creative and moving around and working, and it's such a blessing to be able to do so at any time, but especially during these unprecedented times, and so sometimes, you know, the family dynamics shift, and we all just kind of get our time in when we can, so thank you for for that guys. Kim, thank you so much. Happy, happy birthday. We really appreciate you being with us today on your birthday. Thank you. Enjoy "The upshaws," everybody, you'll want to be an Upshaw, definitely. Everyone, watch "The upshaws," they start streaming today on Netflix so check it out.
