really matter. Which is probably why you should get rid of all the toys, I'm thinking maybe and that's where home stagers come in. They turn their castles into palaces and as ABC's Rebecca Jarvis discovered you can learn a lot from their tricks. Reporter: When Hollywood's hottest stars from Halle berry to brad Pitt to Scarlett Johansson want to sell their homes, they turn to this woman, celebrity home stager, Meredith Baer. That's it. I don't think I've ever met a home I couldn't make prettier. Do they have as many problems as the average person's home when it comes to trying to sell them. I think their hopes are like anybody's. I think, yeah, sometimes you can be a great actor and not have great taste. Reporter: A big reason they call on Meredith. How much more will a home owner get for that sale price by bringing you in than if they didn't have you? They'll get 20% more. We just did a house actually down the treat from where I live and it sold for a million over asking. Reporter: So how can you re-create Meredith's midas touch in your own home without breaking the bank? Her advice, hold off on renovations and invest in a fresh coat of white paint. You want it to feel like a five-star hotel. Reporter: Another tip, crisp white bedding? We often put comforter underthe sheets as well to make it look plump and yummy. Reporter: Next tip, fluffy white towels. Any surface that doesn't look great just add towels. Reporter: Finally add a cookbook to the kitchen. So I might turn to a recipe that looks yummy and leave it open, hint, hint, start cooking as soon as you write a check for the house. Reporter: It might be so inviting you'll never want to leave. For "Good morning America," Rebecca Jarvis, ABC news, new York.
