Transcript for Lena Dunham Has 'Trouble Respecting' Move to Publish Untouched Photos
We turn now, "Girls" star Lena Dunham speaking out against jezebel who offered big money for pictures of Dunham in "Vogue" but before they were photo shopped and published them. Our Mara schiavocampo has the latest round in the body image battle. Reporter: It was the blog bounty heard round the internet. Feminist site jezebel offering $10,000 last month for unretouched images of Lena Dunham's shoot for "Vogue" magazine. Now for the first time the actress and director is speaking out responding to what she calls an all-out attack in a new interview with bill Simmons of grantland.com. It was this weird almost like political maneuvering that I just had a lot of trouble respecting. Reporter: The 27-year-old star and creator of HBO's hit series "Girls" isn't shy about baring it all on the show. It's a good thing I'm not susceptible to criticism as I used to robin she accepts and loves her body. When photos came out of her spread in "Vogue's" February issue jezebel suspected they were doctored and offered up big bucks for proof saying "This is about vogue and what vogue decides to do with a specific woman who has very publicly stated that she's just fine the way she is". All my vulnerabilities to the entire internet. Reporter: Jezebel's flash of cash worked much the next day the site posted these unaltered images in some cases using arrows to point out fixes like a slimmer neckline, refined jaw and smaller hips, changes Dunham says she has no problem with. They like smoothed a line here and shaved off a part of my neck. It was the most minimal retouching. Reporter: In the interview Dunham says these days she can't even bring herself to read the site she once loved. In the end Lena is the clear winner. She stood up for herself. She left them know that they were wrong. And you have to respect that. Reporter: Jezebel has no new comment on the controversy leaving the last word to this girl. For "Good morning America," Mara schiavocampo, ABC news, new York.
