yes, already talk about the next race for president. This week, hillary clinton returning to the world stage after that fall her home and that emotional departure from the state department and everyone, republicans included, watching herve closely. Here is "nightline" anchor cynthia McFadden. Reporter: The constant chatter about whether hillary clinton will run for president got louder this week. Yesterday, her supporters showed up outside new york's lincoln center where inside she was the keynote speaker for the fourth annual women in the world conference, sounding very much like a candidate. I have always believed that women are not victims, we are agents of change. We are drivers of progress. We are makers of peace. The big question about hillary is, what's next? Reporter: I asked her the same question as she stepped down as secretary of state in january. Can you still say with a straight face you have -- that there is no way you would consider running for president? Sitting here right now, that is certainly what I believe. Reporter: Are we up to maybe? Very good, cynthia. Reporter: Whatever she decides, things seem to be heating up. Long-time clinton adviser james carville signed on with the pro-hillary forces. She appeared at an event with joe biden, widely touted as a likely candidate in 2016 if clinton does not jump into the race. Thursday, her new book deal was announced. Scheduled to be released next spring. Good timing if she's a candidate. What the final chapter might be is still being written. Ah, yes, final chapter yet to be written. When you hear names like james carville joining pro-hillary forces you start to think it's gearing up to be a possible presidential campaign. Secretary clinton has not endorsed this pac, she stayed neutral, but all public signs certainly pointing that direction. Certainly keeping her options open. You were at the women's conference, a chance to talk to hillary clinton behind the scenes, asked her what everybody is asking her. Inning including republicans and democrats. The first thing I asked her was how she was feeling, she looks as if she's feeling better, gone are the glasses she after the fall. She had her hair cut, she looks great. She said she's feeling great. That's the first thing. She's still playing mom. We'll have to wait and see.
