Transcript for 5-year-old saves family from fire
Finally tonight, the 5-year-old whose quick thinking saved his little sister, his dog, and other family members from a terrible fire. The new honor for that young hero tonight. When fire broke out in the bedroom 5-year-old Noah woods shares with his little sister, instead of getting scared, Noah got brave. I picked lily up, got to the window with lily, got the dog and got out. And got myself out. Reporter: You heard that right. This tough little guy woke up his 2-year-old sister, grabbed their dog, and they all climbed out of this window to safety. But Noah wasn't done. What about the rest of his family? Noah climbed up these stairs and alerted his uncle about the fire. How bad was it? The 5-year-old suffered smoke inhalation and a burn on his wrist. If it wasn't for Noah, I mean, we were all asleep, so we wouldn't have known what was going on. So we could have all lost our lives. Reporter: It wasn't only Noah's family that noticed the bravery. The local fire department, just outside of Atlanta, Bartow county, named Noah an honorary firefighter. Noah now a local legend. And a hero at home. Because of what he did, his entire family of nine is safe tonight. His father grateful. He's my hero. My son's always been my hero.
