??? I met you in the summer ??? Back here on "Gma" I promised you a block party and we have it and chef Scott Conant right here with us bringing us tips for the perfect cookout. Good morning. Let's talk grilling. Good morning. First of all, do you smell this? It smells so good. I can't handle it. I'm so hungry. A few things I like to do. Grilling slow and slow and keep half of the grill on a higher temperature. The other half much lower temperature. So sear it first. Then cook covered and what I like to do also take wood chip, put them either on the grill or underneath the grill and when it's closed it really -- it smolders and just makes the food taste great. Smoke really permeates. I love a good smolder. And like to kill directly on cedar planks. Done that with fish. All right. So we got some pork shoulder that a few different phases, we start it in a cast iron pot just like this then after half an hour we add some vegetables to it, right? We add a little bit of broth as well. Let it cook for a few minutes. Once it starts to cook then we glaze it like this with this beautiful king's hawaiian barbecue sauce, right? After it's done after about two hours we let it rest and we break it up just with two forks we make this beautiful -- we can add more sauce if we want. Some more of the king's hawaiian barbecue sauce. Everything is better on this bread. It's iconic. A little bit of coleslaw and end up with a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw, delicious. So excited for summer. Sausage and peppers on a hot dog bun. That's right. So we take these vegetables and cook them directly on the cedar plank and permeates full of flavor.
