Whiskey the whippet, the top dog, fresh off winning the American kennel club national championship beating out more than 5,000 other dogs for the title. We'll meet whiskey in a moment. Adrienne Bankert. Well, first of all, I had never heard of a whippet but that song is caught in your head. Think of a small greyhound. That's what a whippet is and whip it is the official theme song for whiskey. He beat out thousands to win best in show. Watch. And this is the schettland sheepdog. Reporter: The beauty, the skill, man's best friend never looked better at the American kennel club national championship. He's got the nickname the clown of the sporting group. Reporter: The furry fluffy and finest dogs compete for best in show at the nation's largest dog competition. Look at that face. Reporter: There are 9,000 good boys and girls across hundreds of breeds from all around the world with their owners opening their buddy is the top dog. Another standout from the terrier group. Reporter: These canine contenders are judged on diving and agility before making it to the big stage. Here we have the toy poodle. Reporter: There is a look pretty event and at least one pup couldn't get enough of themselves. He's staring at himself in the big screen. I think he likes what he he sees. Reporter: This cutie captivated by his reflection in the Jumbotron. This is whiskey the whippet. Reporter: In the end a 3-year-old whippet named whiskey stole the show. Working his tail off to beat out the best from the nonsporting herding and toy groups for the top prize and $50,000. Tonight this goes to the whippet. There you have it.
