Transcript for Female football player who was offered a full scholarship speaks on 'GMA'
We are here now with Antoinette "Toni" Harris. If you don't know her name you should because at just 22 she is the first woman to receive a full college football scholarship offer. She plays a safety. And, you know, not just one but four offers if you're confused about it. Incredible story. I am so happy to meet you. Good to see you, Toni. I want everybody to see this. I've seen a preview of it but Toni's starring in a super bowl ad. Can we take a look at it before we talk? They say she was too slow. Too weak. Yeah, people have made a lot of atupgss about Toni. But I've never been a fan of assumptions. That is so awesome. That was so awesome and there has been asungs made about you because you are the first female who's been -- is playing college football on a clipboard so how do you face that and how do you overcome that can be a daunting task. There's been a lot of trials and trip layings in my life and I feel like as long as I keep god first I can overcome any adversity that comes my way, you know. It's not easy to be strong every day but I mean I guess that's what god put into me to fight through it every day. Now, there's no doubt that they picked you to say that message because, I mean, you -- you're a clear example of what fighting every day and living your dream is. What does that mean to you? It means a lot to me. I feel like it's an honor and privilege to be a part of something so big. I've been asking god to help someone shed light on my potential and my talent for a long, long time and Toyota finally gave me that chance and I feel like it was a blessing from god. It was right there in my face and I'm just here to express how I feel about it. You sent out a tweet and you really are inspiring. They don't get to decide who I want to be. I decide that 100%. I'm just looking to learn, grow, stay focused and become a better athlete. Now, this is very wise for someone your age and what is the message you're trying to express? I was sending the message to myself because at this moment I feel like I'm my biggest critic and biggest supporter and at the end of the day no one else's opinion matters about your dreams. You know, you can give. You can tell people what you want to do and tell them how you feel but you shouldn't have to fight to have people understand your vision, you know, it's your vision. It's not for them to understand. It's something that god gave you for your to go excel at. That's why I was speaking to let them know. Nobody will decide where I go in life. That's my decision. And one thing -- Sam's got a quick question for you. He wants you to decide this. I have both of you here so if I'm betting on a game that may be happening, who is the winner? If you're asking me, I'm going for the rams.
