Reporter: He took center stage in some of the most MEMORABLE MOVIES OF THE '80s. He reveals he battled perm demons that led to years of drug and alcohol abuse at the age of 14. I had poster on my wall. You don't see the coolest guy. I'm very self-critical. I can't help it. Reporter: Parts of that come from his tumultuous relationship with his parents. How much pressure was there to bring in income? I was the bread winner for the family. Children should not be workers. Go goonies was the most fun. Reporter: It was on the set of the goonies where he met his idol and future friend, the king of pop. He believes there is more to the story behind michael jackson aps death. I think michael was much more involved in it himself. Not an accidental drug overdose. Reporter: You think he wanted to die? This is it. That's all I'm going to say. Reporter: The death of his fellow star and friend, corey haim, made him want to write the book. Here's the part that really gets me. I gave the police the names of my predators. Did any of those men get investigated? No. All they wanted to hear was one name. Michael jackson. And guess what, when I told them over and over and over michael jackson did nothing to me, but this guy did, this guy did, this guy did. Reporter: They didn't investigate. Never. They're walking free today. Reporter: His pride and joy is his 9-year-old son, zen. For "good morning america," bianna golodryga, abc news, new york. A public struggle. We wish him and his son the very best. Something many people will go through.
